eLearning is a PADI program that substitutes the use of digital materials for traditional classroom-based learning. Most SCUBA students choose the traditional classroom-based format using the traditional paper materials, but the digital materials are becoming more popular.
The digital materials are more expensive than the traditional materials, but the digital materials can be used to replace some or all of the classroom time. The time savings and convenience of using digital materials may make sense for students who have extremely busy schedules or who are not inclined to spend time in a classroom.
At Scubaland, all students are encouraged to attend the classroom sessions regardless of the type of materials they chose. We cover information about local diving, SCUBA equipment, dive travel, and many other topics that you will not find in either of the materials sets. There is also the social aspect of attending class with your fellow new divers. Many people meet lifelong friends in a SCUBA class.
If you are still not sure whether to choose digital materials and eLearning or the traditional format talk to one of our knowledgeable sales staff. Just about everyone you will meet at Scubaland is a PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor and we will be happy to help you understand your options and make your decision.
